How I made my blog look better.



Contrast:

  • I changed the contrast by adding a bold font to the beginning of each word in the acronym.
  • I also changed the theme from a bland pale green/white combo to an orange and black theme reminicent of UTSA's colors.
  • I added more photos as well.


 Repition:

  • I repeated fonts and style choices.


 Alignment: 

  • I aligned the text to ensure better readability. 
  • I also center aligned the subtitle. 
  • I added bullets to create more distinction in text levels.


 Proximity:

  • I ensured the proximity of different levels of text were distinct without being so distant.
  • I also added a space after the subtitle, before the body text, to display more emphasis on the subtitle.

My least favorite website...

Why does the Prime Video website look so terrible when compared to Netflix or Hulu? I use Prime Video primarily on my phone, but even on the desktop site it looks awful. It has all the design C.R.A.P. including contrast, repitition, alignment, and proximity like a good website should. But when I compare it to the easy and visual appeal of Netflix-it's terrible! Here's the problem : There is consistency and repitition... in the poor design. It's hard to navigate by section when scrolling through the categories. The genre subtitles don't pop enough to even realize what section you're scrolling through. This can be partly attributed to the left alignment consistent throughout the images, texts, and subtitles.  And as for the media interactivity, the website does what is expected of it. When I click on an image I can view a summary of the show or movie and choose to watch, purchase or rent, or add to my watchlist.  I suppose it's not the worst website, bu...
